Pray

We believe that God’s heart is full of compassion for those who are poor, downtrodden, hungry, and in need. Our work here at inHope, is all about having that same compassion and showing God’s love for all people through practical help and empowering clients to make positive changes when they are ready.
When Jesus was on earth, one of the things he said was this, and this is what we live by: Love God, love others.
Prayer is talking to God about the things that trouble us, asking for help, dedicating people and activities to him, and thanking God for his help and his love. At inHope, we have many supporters across Bristol and the region who pray for us and our clients every day. And every morning, staff gather to pray together for clients and the day ahead. Everything we do is underpinned by prayer.
A short prayer for homeless people
Lord God, we pray for people who find themselves without a home, sleeping on the streets, or at risk of losing their home. We ask that you would guide all those in need to places of shelter and safety. We also ask that you would guide those in positions of power to make justice and providing housing a priority. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen
Current prayer needs
- For people sleeping rough to ask for help from Wild Goose staff to be signposted to agencies to get emergency accommodation.
- For participants of the Life Course – that they would feel at ease in the group and complete the course.
- For the tenants moving into the new Hope into Action community houses in Knowle West and Portishead.
- For client face-to-face appointments with the foodbank support and advice workers – that people would be helped to reduce their bills and the need for them to need the foodbank.
Gathering together for prayer
Supporters of inHope meet regularly online and in person to pray for our work to see communities where everybody can reach their God-given potential, free from injustice and insecurity. You would be most welcome!
