From Vision for the Vulnerable to United in Prayer

For over 10 years, Christians across Bristol have gathered at a prayer event called Vision for the Vulnerable, to pray for women who are vulnerable because of circumstances such as rough sleeping. This has been a collaborative event hosted by three charities who work with women: One25, Beloved and inHope’s female-only service Spring of Hope.

After 10 years we have decided to change the name of the event to United in Prayer.

“The women we work with and are praying for are defined by so much more than their vulnerabilities, so we have decided to change our name to reflect this.”

One of the planning group members had this to say. “At our last prayer meeting, we talked about how God sees the women we work with. He sees them as his precious daughters whom he made and loves for their strengths. Therefore, we wanted to move away from using the term ‘vulnerable’, which labels them by their circumstances, not by how we think God sees them.

“We have decided to rebrand Vision for the Vulnerable to ‘United in Prayer’. United in Prayer is an opportunity for supporters of One25, Beloved and Spring of Hope to come together to pray for women facing multiple disadvantages in our city. Choosing to rebrand as United in Prayer helps us to join together to pray with and for the women we serve.
