This Christmas, many Bristolians will go without essentials such as food, warmth or even a home. This situation is not right, but you can help to alleviate these injustices by providing emergency food and practical help such as clothes or showers, along with somewhere safe for women who are homeless to stay.
By donating to our Big Give appeal you will be helping people in Bristol who are facing crisis point this Christmas.
The Big Give appeal runs between Tuesday 3rd and Tuesday 10th December.
We know that times remain tough for many people, and we are so very appreciative of each and every donation given.
How will your donation make a difference?

Provide emergency food parcels
Our Foodbank provides individuals or families with food for three days. Foodbanks are visited by a range of people – families with children, pensioners, people with jobs and others who are unable to work.
£32 could buy the essential items for an individual person’s emergency food parcel, or £47 for a family of four.
“Thank you for the food parcel and birthday cake scheme, which has put a smile on my 3 children’s faces.”

Provide safe beds for women who are homeless
A safe, warm bed at Spring of Hope can be life changing for a woman experiencing homelessness. Women may become homeless for any number of reasons – relationship breakdown, domestic abuse, losing a job, or a no-fault eviction by their landlord.
£85 could provide a woman with somewhere safe to sleep and support to find a permanent safe place to live.
“You all saw me through a very difficult stage in my life.”

Provide hot, nutritious, fresh meals
A hot, nutritious and fresh meals at the Wild Goose is a lifeline for anyone who is homeless and has nowhere else to go. A warm, friendly conversation with a staff member or a volunteer can help people stabilise after a crisis and plan their first steps towards their recovery.
An average of 139 people eat at the Wild Goose each day – it costs just £3 to provide a hot meal for someone.
“I came for food and connection – it means I’m not alone.”
