The Big Give

Give a woman in Bristol a warm bed & the start of her journey out of homelessness this Christmas.

Every Christmas, there are women in Bristol who are forced to sleep out on the cold, dark streets, without a safe place to call home. Last year's women's rough sleeping census in Bristol found that 349 women experiencing homelessness had turned to organisations like inHope for help throughout the year. Homelessness as a woman is particularly dangerous. Women are often subject to violence, coercion and exploitation.

You can help the women who are experiencing homelessness this Christmas by donating to the work of Spring of Hope, where caring volunteers and staff offer support to women when they need it most.

The Big Give appeal runs between Tuesday 2nd and Tuesday 9th December, and this year all donations are going towards Spring of Hope.

We know that times remain tough for many people, and we are so very appreciative of each and every donation given.

How your donation will make a difference to women…
Provide a safe and warm bed for women experiencing homelessness.

A safe, warm bed at Spring of Hope can be life changing for a woman experiencing homelessness. Women may become homeless for any number of reasons – relationship breakdown, domestic abuse, losing a job, or a no-fault eviction by their landlord.

£90 could provide a woman with somewhere safe to sleep and support to find a permanent safe place to live.

"It was honestly the best night's sleep I had in such a long time."

Provide food, water, and hot drinks.

Woman who arrive at Spring of Hope are often hungry, and so food and drinks are available for women before they go to bed. And then, breakfast is provided before they leave in the morning, to help set them up for the day.

Provide toiletries, clothes, and access to a clean bathroom and hot shower.

These essential items and facilities provide cleanliness and dignity for women. Being able to use facilities in a single-sex environment is incredibly important for women to feel safe.

Provide a place to start to heal from trauma.

Most women who stay at Spring of Hope have suffered violence, abuse, and trauma. Dedicated staff offer kindness, compassion, hope, and a listening ear. Some women, sadly, have never experienced this in their lives.
